A stack of five fiction books

My Physical TBR: The Books I Want To Read This Year

Reading Time: 2 minutes

I have five books on my physical TBR that I want to get to before the end of 2026. My primary dilemma is that I am a mood reader and I also heavily rely on my e-reader and now the only time I seem to have to read lately is right before bed. And when I am curled up in bed, an ebook feels just right compared to a paperback.

My Physical TBR Stack

So these are the books that I want to prioritise in 2026.

Hungry Ghosts by Kevin Jared Hosien has been on my TBR the longest. I even started listening to the audiobook months ago (maybe years ago?) when I still had my Everand book subscription but I found the hardback locally and I want to read it next quarter as soon as I finish River Sing Me Home (don’t judge) and Pleasantview.

So these three books I considered the top ones and are in some shape in-progress.

I also started and paused Skin of the Sea by Natasha Bowen and No Reservations by Sheryl Lister but I don’t remember the storylines so when I get back to reading those I will start over.

The only truly new to me book is When We Were Birds because I don’t think I started that or look too deeply into what that story is about except that it is set in Trinidad and Tobago.

I considered doing little blurbs of each book but decided not to. If you are interested in a particular title, look it up or message me.

I find book reviews more useful that TBR stacks or book hauls.

I hope you are reading and enjoying a book this week. Chat again real soon.
